• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
• Understand and operate the POS system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, and control loss effectively.
• Follow guidelines regarding restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer queries about products.
• Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Act honestly and maintain confidentiality regarding customer and business information.
• Follow instructions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
