Overview
A well-established and growing marine construction contractor on Florida's east coast is seeking an experienced Marine Construction Project Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing marine construction projects from award through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
This position is ideal for a project manager with a strong marine construction background who is looking for long-term growth with a reputable contractor.
Responsibilities
- Manage marine construction projects from contract award through final closeout
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations
- Coordinate closely with superintendents, field crews, owners, and engineers
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Monitor job cost control, forecasting, and project financial performance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications
- Support estimating efforts during slower periods, including quantity takeoffs and bid preparation
- Assist with continuous process improvement and team collaboration
- Minimum 3 years of marine construction experience in a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar role
- Marine construction experience is required (this is not an entry-level or training role)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of marine construction means and methods
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractors
- Knowledge of job cost control and project financial tracking
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid preferred (training available for the right candidate)
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Position is based on Florida's east coast
