Simon Roofing’s Mechanical Engineering Co‑op and Internship Programs provide meaningful experiences that will enhance your education. Co‑ops and interns will be based at our Struthers, Ohio location and it will be twenty (20) hours per week.
Learning while Earning:
The Engineering Co‑op and Internship Programs are designed to give candidates the opportunity to gain practical experience that will prepare you for future employment. The projects you will work on are real. As a member of the program, you will be exposed to a wide variety of engineering and operations disciplines. This is a paid internship at $14.00 to $15.00 per hour.
- Work on real‑world projects to design, develop, and test mechanical/process systems.
- Assist in designing and developing mechanical systems.
- Conduct research and analysis.
- Collaborate with teams to solve problems.
- Participate in testing and validation.
- Gain exposure to industry tools and software.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Manufacturing Engineering.
- Application Engineering.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
- Hands‑on mechanical experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Safety‑focused, team‑focused, dependable, resourceful, and efficient.
- Leads by example.
- Takes initiative, can work independently, and can make decisions in a fast‑paced, small‑business environment.
- Quality‑conscious with strong attention to detail.
- Understands basic electrical, fluid dynamics, machinery and interconnecting parts and processes.
