Location

Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, UK. Stonehouse Technology Centre (SHTC) is the SLB drilling Centre of Excellence. It supports SLB through innovative engineering and quality‑driven manufacturing, with portfolio emphasis on rotary steerable systems, Measurement While Drilling tools, specialised measurement tools and rechargeable batteries for downhole use, and power source products. Over 300 employees work in SHTC's modern, fit‑for‑purpose building in scenic Gloucestershire. The facility was constructed to handle future demand for Power Drive tools with an efficient workflow that ensures assembled tools are extensively and rigorously tested before delivery.

On site, tools can be monitored using state‑of‑the‑art hardware and connectivity that link SHTC to all field locations. SHTC continues research & development investment for new technologies, extending operational limits so that clients can reach hotter, deeper reserves.

Job Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials within the warehouse. The role ensures that all inventory activities are performed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and QHSE standards. The Storekeeper supports production and operational requirements by ensuring materials are received, stored, issued, and maintained correctly, while contributing to a safe, organised, and efficient warehouse environment.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with applicable company policies including, but not limited to, personnel and QHSE requirements.
  • Perform inspecting, labelling, receiving, storing, picking, packing, issuing, disposal, and cycle counting of inventory items.
  • Accept supplier deliveries, ensuring received items are in suitable condition and match the packing list and/or purchase order, reporting discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure outgoing inventory items are suitably packed and issued with correct and complete documentation.
  • Issue materials to production orders, work orders, and sales orders as required. Support kitting activities and Kanban point‑of‑use replenishment to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Improve efficiency and safety by optimising warehouse bin locations and material layout.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within warehouse and shipping and receiving areas. Perform inventory cycle counts and support periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate and resolve local inventory and warehouse issues as requested by the Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with established warehouse procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment upon completion of required training and certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Able to operate a 7.5 Ton lorry for moving items between buildings would be an advantage.
Experience & Exposures
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or store keeping environment.
  • Experience with receiving, picking, packing, and issuing materials.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and cycle counting processes.
  • SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Safety‑focused and detail‑oriented mindset.
  • Proactive and reliable with a strong sense of accountability.
