CNC Nights Machinist - Mansell Group Plc

Overview

My client is looking for an experienced CNC Setter to take ownership of a busy CNC Cell within a growing manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth production flow, driving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output across all machining operations.

• Set and operate CNC machines within your assigned Cell to achieve production targets.
• Take ownership of Cell performance, ensuring utilisation and efficiency goals are met.
• Complete traveller documentation and maintain accurate production records.
• Coordinate machine maintenance and report any issues promptly.
• Work closely with Production Engineering to resolve drawing or process queries.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machining processes.
• Conduct first-off inspections and quality checks on components.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and well‑organised work environment.
• Provide effective handovers between shifts.
• Mentor apprentices or new team members within the Machine Shop.
• Collaborate with the Production Team Leader and Manager on production schedules and priorities.
• Minimise scrap and downtime through proactive problem‑solving.

• Proven background in CNC setting, on lathes.
• Experience with Mazak machines would be highly advantageous.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Confident conducting quality checks and working to tight tolerances.
• Positive, proactive approach to teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working night shifts.
