Position: Waking Night Support Worker - Young People Supported Accommodation

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive, personable, stay-awake-at-night type of person to work in our supported accommodation buildings in Stroud. As our newest team member, you will have the opportunity to showcase your unique personality and make a real impact on our young people and organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure building safety and security for residents, acting as a point of contact and liaising with support staff.
  • Maintain awareness of on-site staff, keeping the building clean, tidy, presentable and undertaking light maintenance duties.
  • Engage with residents who may need someone to listen to them.
  • Defuse situations that may affect the health, safety or well-being of residents, undertaking health and safety checks and walk-arounds throughout your shift.
  • Resolve situations yourself or seek support from peers and emergency services if needed, demonstrating empathy and patience toward residents.
Qualifications
  • Experience interacting with a diverse cross section of society is useful, but not essential; training and induction will be provided.
  • Empathetic, driven, and able to motivate others; embrace opportunity and willingness to learn and reflect.
