Job Overview — As a Cosmetic Sales Colleague, also known as a Beauty Advisor, you are the trusted expert our customers turn to for all things beauty. You are passionate about products and people, and you create a personalized and inspiring shopping experience that builds confidence and drives sales.

You’ll educate and beauty-expert by offering product demonstrations, providing tailored consultations (which may include makeup application and skincare recommendations), and staying current on trends. Your deep product knowledge helps introduce customers to new items and innovations that match their needs and style. You’ll build lasting client relationships through consistent follow-up, virtual outreach, and personalized service with the goal of exceeding expectations and achieving sales targets.

By combining hospitality, product knowledge, and a passion for beauty, you’ll help every customer leave feeling confident, cared for, and excited to return.

Responsibilities
  • Our colleagues begin each day energized and ready to make an impact. They greet teammates, ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and prepared for customers, review sales goals, learn about new arrivals and top-selling items, and stay up to date on current trends and promotions to engage, educate, and sell with confidence.
  • On the floor, they focus on the customer — offering a warm welcome, making eye contact, and creating personal conversations to build relationships and encourage repeat visits.
  • Maintain a shoppable space by organizing the counter and sales floor, refreshing signage and pricing, and assisting with merchandise moves to support a seamless customer experience. Finish Strong by sharing loyalty program benefits, ensuring customers have what they need, and thanking them warmly.
  • Support one another with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.
  • Strive for excellence as a team — continue learning, achieve sales goals, and deliver store results.

Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, and part-time colleagues 12-24 hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Information regarding hours for benefit eligibility is available here.

Qualifications
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Must be able to:
    Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors; read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
  • Deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships with customers, uncovering needs, demonstrating product application, and educating on benefits and use of beauty products
  • Drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized and shoppable space, leveraging clienteling tools to promote offers and product launches, participating in sales events, and staying up to date through ongoing training and vendor education
  • Meet and surpass daily sales goals by delivering exceptional service
  • Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
  • Effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience
  • At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience required
Essential

Physical Requirements
  • Talking, lifting, constant movement, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, reaching above eye level
  • Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Frequent use of computers and technology, including handheld equipment and cash register operations
