Residential Camp Coordinator (Summer 2026) SeasonalDepartment: Recreational Programs
Location: Camp Cheerful
Seasonal, Summer Position
Pay: $600 per week
Camp Cheerful is looking for a Residential Camp Coordinator to help lead daily overnight camp operations and support counselors in delivering a safe, engaging, and inclusive experience for campers with disabilities.
This is a residential, overnight position. Coordinators are required to stay on site during assigned camp sessions, including overnight supervision responsibilities.

What you’ll do- Oversee day to day residential camp operations including camper arrivals, transitions, and evening routines
- Serve as a visible, supportive leader for counselors and camp staff, modeling best practices and positive culture
- Help train staff, manage daily staffing coverage, and assign responsibilities to keep programming running smoothly
- Ensure camper safety, supervision, and well being across cabins and program areas
- Partner with the camp nurse to support medication procedures and follow health and safety protocols
- Communicate with parents and guardians as needed regarding camper needs, incidents, and updates
- Review, document, and sign incident reports and support crisis response and de escalation when needed
- Support activity planning, cabin readiness, and smooth transitions between programs
- Ensure proper use, care, and organization of camp equipment and facilities
- Uphold agency policies, safety standards, and all reporting requirements
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and family centered camp environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least one year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities
- Experience supervising staff or working in structured group environments
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Professional, energetic, and team oriented approach
- Ability to assist with lifting and personal care needs of campers as required
- Ability to actively participate in outdoor camp activities in various weather conditions
- Willingness to support setup, cleanup, and light custodial tasks to keep camp spaces safe and ready
