Job Description
ABOUTTHE ROLE
As a Maintenance Technician at Cornerstone Building Brands, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment, machinery, and facility systems, ensuring smooth production operations and minimizing downtime. This role involves diagnosing and fixing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and potentially assisting with the installation of new equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, machinery, and related systems. This may include mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Installation and Removal: Assist with the installation of new equipment and the removal of old equipment.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other problems with equipment and machinery.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment issues.
- Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to address maintenance needs.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform general facility maintenance tasks, such as minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work including general housekeeping / cleaning.
- Material Handling: Ensure the proper handling, storage, and inventory of spare parts and materials.
- Problem Solving: Apply technical skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Tool Use: Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to perform maintenance tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to solve basic problems that may arise in the job.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems in day‑to‑day tasks for the job.
- Ability to respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and be able to prioritize important work.
- Ability to communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also being able to work with other staff members to get a particular job completed.
- Ability to multitask supporting daily operations.
- Ability to work in various areas of the building and perform many different functions to keep the building in good standing.
This position is with Soft Lite Windows & Doors, part of Cornerstone Building Brands. Please note that our facility signage and operations reflect the Soft Lite name.
