Operations Manager, EHS / HSE Manager
Job Description
- Develop, implement and manage safety programs, policies and procedures.
- Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure legal compliance as it relates to Environmental, Health, and Safety.
- Maintain OSHA 300 log and prepare monthly accident summary reports.
- Participate in Plant Safety Team meetings as a permanent member.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings and provide Supervisors with safety training information for weekly department/shift meetings.
- Conduct quarterly safety reviews and annual Manager safety review.
- Investigate all accidents and coordinate corrective actions.
- Organize and oversee all required safety training, i.e. fork truck, lockout, etc.
- Manage the New Hire Safety Orientation and Onboarding Process.
- File and maintain SDS sheets.
- Purchase appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Manage all federal, state and local environmental permits and insure compliance.
- Assist inspection personnel from insurance carriers, OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Recommend and budget for safety capital expenditure items and annual safety budget.
