Driver-CDI-2 at Connecticut Distributors

Drives a truck and delivers products to customers, providing the highest levels of customer service.

Market Operations

• Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or with hand truck or dolly.
• Delivers and stacks merchandise at customers’ places of business.
• Makes changes and records transactions on customer receipt.
• Collects or picks up empty cases and bottles.
• Keeps the truck clean and abides by all applicable laws.
• Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
• Picks up and returns empty boxes to the warehouse.
• Performs daily inspections on truck, checks oil and water level.
• Operates a cell phone to call the warehouse and report delivery status and the credit department regarding COD orders.
• Abides by all State credit laws regarding CODs.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CDL license is required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions; ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Commercial Driver License and a clean MVR report.

Skills and Abilities

Driving, reading road signs, maps, logos on cases and invoices.

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Must be able to get in and out of the truck.

Works outside in weather conditions; regularly exposed to vibration; noise level usually loud.
