Position Summary

This position produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) lathe, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.

Sign On Bonus $2500

Sign‑on bonus: $2,500.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares and operates CNC lathe to perform required tasks.
  • Understands specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Prepares and loads raw materials and parts on the machine.
  • Prepares test run to check if the machines produce output according to specifications.
  • Monitors the machines and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Visually and mechanically inspects finished products to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Adheres to quality control procedures.
  • Mentors other associates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Strong knowledge of Y-axis machining and live tooling.
  • Ability to work with no supervision.
  • Good knowledge of the process from start to finish of a job.
  • Program a part using Mastercam and draw a 2D/3D part in Mastercam/Solidworks.
  • Advanced understanding of G code.
  • Design and machine advanced fixturing.
  • 3D programming in Mastercam.
  • Working knowledge of certified quality standards (AS9100 Rev

    D).
  • Give support for quoting jobs.
  • Ability to teach and assist other operators.
  • Develop new processes as required.
  • Test new tooling; evaluate new procedures.
  • Review jobs for mill/turn vs. turn and mill operations.
