General Summary

The Senior Deposit Operations Representative oversees specialized back-office responsibilities related to share accounts. Key duties involve account servicing, quality control, maintenance, share drafts, ACH, wires, debit card processing, legal processing and digital banking services while supporting staff to ensure efficient operations and regulatory compliance.

Key Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform complex member deposit account servicing functions, including account exceptions, negative share balances, IRA account openings, certificate maintenance, and overdraft privilege administration.
  • Conduct ongoing quality control reviews of deposit operations transactions and processes to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal policies.
  • Process and review electronic funds transfers, including ACH files and domestic and international wire transactions, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulatory and internal controls.
  • Review shares draft processing activities to identify exceptions, mitigate operational and fraud risk, and collaborate with Risk and other departments to reduce potential losses.
  • Process and manage legal items, ensuring timely handling, proper documentation and compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Process and support digital banking services, including approval of online banking and Bill Pay enrollments, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with internal controls and security protocols
  • Balance and reconcile general ledger accounts related to daily deposit operations processing; partner with Finance to research discrepancies and complete required GL entries and adjustments.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives, audits, and examinations by providing documentation, research, and subject matter expertise as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to resolve escalated issues with urgency, professionalism, and adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management, and vendors.
  • Keeps abreast on industry developments, including regulatory and technological changes.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures and all banking/credit union regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant financial operations experience with a strong knowledge of credit union policies and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize due to the unpredictable flow of daily work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
