• Work with the lead teachers in planning and preparing materials for children's learning activities
• Conduct learning activities with children
• Contribute information that helps teachers in assessing, recording and reporting children s progress and using the results of assessment to plan activities
• Supervise children s activities to assure their safety
• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and orderly learning environment
• Provides classroom coverage in the absence of the lead teacher

• Candidates must have as a minimum a Childhood Development (CDA) or equivalent (a minimum of 12 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education). Associate s Degree in Early Childhood plus two years working experience with preschool children preferred.
• Successful teaching experience at the early childhood and/or kindergarten levels
• Familiarity with the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards

• Current First Aid, CPR and medication certification or willingness to obtain
• Work is primarily in a classroom environment. Preschool classrooms are dynamic with a high level of activity. Incumbent must be able to lift 40 pounds. Other physical demands as specified in job description.
