We are seeking a committed Full‑Time SEND Teaching Assistant for a long‑term, ongoing role starting in January 2026, supporting a Year 4 student with ADHD. This opportunity is within a nurturing primary school that promotes inclusive values and a strong sense of community. Pupils are encouraged to be respectful, resilient, and engaged in their learning. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all children feel safe, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ADHD, adapting strategies to meet individual needs
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans
- Foster a positive and structured learning environment that supports emotional regulation and focus
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
- Encourage independence and social interaction during lessons and break times
- Support classroom activities and contribute to the wider school community
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification and has proven experience working with SEND pupils, particularly ADHD
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to behaviour management
- Has strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals
- Is confident in implementing EHCP targets and differentiated learning strategies
- Shows commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
