The Missionary Pastor at House of Mercy Christian Assembly plays a critical leadership role in guiding the spiritual direction of the church while driving impactful community outreach. This position blends biblical teaching, pastoral care, and mission-driven initiatives to meet the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of both the congregation and the surrounding community.

This role is ideal for advancing both church growth and community transformation, uniting spiritual leadership with practical outreach to meet the holistic needs of people. It ensures the church remains a beacon of faith, hope, and service in the local area.

Core responsibilities and task

• Spiritual Leadership:
  Leading weekly Sunday services, Bible studies, and prayer meetings to inspire and nurture congregational faith.
• Missionary Outreach:
  Spearheading evangelism through weekly street ministry at Stratford Station, collaborating on community outreach projects, organizing evangelistic events, and supporting initiatives like the food bank and breakthrough Bible studies to engage diverse communities.
• Pastoral Care:
  Providing spiritual counseling, emotional support, and encouragement to church members and the wider community, including crisis intervention, visitation for the sick or bereaved, and prayer/counseling services to help overcome life issues.
• Administrative Duties:
  Assisting with church administration, including record-keeping, financial oversight, and coordinating events and initiatives to ensure smooth operations.
• Training and Development:
  Mentoring church members to grow in faith and leadership, equipping them for ministry roles, facilitating discipleship programs, and job club training to empower individuals.
• Community Engagement:
  Building relationships with local organizations, schools, and charities (e.g., St Anthony’s Club, Gascoigne Primary School) to address community needs, such as food drives, youth tuition and music/dance school to extend the church’s gospel impact.
• Church Planting Support:
  Assisting in establishing new congregations or supporting HMCA’s expansion efforts in areas with limited gospel presence, including networking with other churches and leveraging community programs.
• Event Planning:
  Organizing special services, such as holiday celebrations, retreats, or conferences, and coordinating community events like the music/dance school and job club to strengthen community bonds and attract new members.
