As part of this Apprenticeship opportunity, you will benefit from dedicated training time—at least 20% of your working hours—to help you achieve the Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship. This structured learning is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in a governance role. At the end of the apprenticeship contract the postholder will have developed the necessary skills and experience to:
- Assist in undertaking general repair and maintenance tasks to public offices, public conveniences, open spaces, car parks and other buildings and areas maintained by the Council
- Help undertake minor works of a general building and/or civil engineering nature and ensure areas are made safe and secured throughout a works programme.
- Assist in providing maintenance cover and support to all Departments of the Council.
- Be a key holder.
- Set and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in all activities undertaken.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with Council policies and best practices. - Maintenance & Repairs:
Assist with general repairs, maintenance tasks, and minor works across Council facilities, including public buildings and car parks. - Operational Support:
Help source materials, supervise minor contractors, and respond to urgent maintenance needs efficiently. - Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time, materials, and inspection data. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with staff across departments to minimise disruption and support the effective delivery of services.

Enthusiastic about undertaking apprenticeship training and developing new skills in building maintenance and repairs. - Communication & IT
