About the RoleAs modern vehicles evolve, customers are interacting with automotive products in increasingly innovative and intuitive ways. To help shape the next generation of customer experiences, we are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Human Factors Specialist to support our client's Human Factors Ergonomics team on a 12‑month contract basis.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Anthropometrics, Product Design, Design Engineering, or User Experience, who thrives on translating customer needs into meaningful design and engineering decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of Human Factors requirements to ensure delivery of a world‑class customer experience.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Engineering, Design, Programme, Commercial and more to embed Human Factors principles throughout the vehicle development process.
- Drive Human Factors input into future vehicle and brand development using innovative and visual communication methods.
- Plan and conduct Human Factors assessments and gateway testing to support timely issue resolution.
- Work cross‑functionally to resolve ergonomic‑related challenges using customer insights and Human Factors science.
- Analyse customer feedback relating to ergonomics to inform requirement development and support problem‑solving.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with sound technical decision‑making.
- Ability to analyse technical data and customer feedback.
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, or anthropometrics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA or 3D Experience.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
- Knowledge of whole‑vehicle engineering and multi‑team collaboration.
- Resilient, enthusiastic, and able to deliver under pressure.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Anthropometrics, User‑Centred Design, Product Design, User Experience Design, or a related field.
This role requires a minimum of two days on‑site per week in Gaydon. These days may vary depending on business needs.
