Project Manager – Construction & Civils
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the construction and civils phase of a £30 million warehousing development.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering large-scale industrial building projects (£30m+), ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the construction and civils scope of a £30m industrial warehousing development.
* Develop, manage, and deliver the project programme and budget.
* Procure, manage, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Coordinate all utilities and service connections, including drainage and infrastructure works.
* Work closely with design and technical teams to ensure compliance with operational, planning, and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including CDM regulations.
* Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
* Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience managing large-scale industrial or commercial construction projects valued at £30 million or above.
* Strong knowledge of construction and civil engineering processes.
* Demonstrable experience coordinating utilities and service connections for industrial developments.
* Excellent procurement and commercial negotiation skills.
* Strong ability to manage budgets, programmes, and resources effectively.
* Confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Solid understanding of UK construction legislation and CDM requirements.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience using digital project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera).
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
* Knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to manage change and evolving project requirements in a fast-paced environment
