Position: Maintenance Engineer (Permanent)

This is a food manufacturing site in East London running a fast-paced, automated operation. They’re looking for an electrically strong maintenance engineer who’s genuinely comfortable fault-finding on the tools and knows their way around control systems.

If your electrical experience is light, theoretical, or mostly mechanical this won’t be the one.

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights

What you’ll be doing :

Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs on production and packaging machinery
Planned and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime and reliability
Supporting production priorities and responding to breakdowns effectively
Completing documentation accurately and keeping everything audit-ready
Working safely and compliantly in a food manufacturing environment
Identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability and efficiency

About you:

These are non-negotiable.

Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent e.g. electrical degree with hands-on maintenance experience
Proven experience working on the tools as a maintenance engineer
Background in food or manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in:

Controls and instrumentation
Control panels
Electrical components: sensors, relays, thermocouples, VFDs, etc.
Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and symbols
Drawing and explaining electrical circuit diagrams
Servo motors and encoders
Basic pneumatics (valves, cylinders, air flow controls)
