About the role – Behaviour mentor
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary academy and support students in overcoming barriers to learning. The role focuses on promoting positive behaviour, improving engagement, and supporting students’ personal and social development. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and families, you will provide one-to-one and small group interventions, act as a positive role model, and help students develop confidence and self-regulation skills.
Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships are essential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a supportive and inclusive secondary school environment.
About the school – Behaviour mentor
This all through school based in the inner London borough of Newham cater to students aged 3 to 16 of the local area. The school has a 43-acre site with impressive facilities in every phase and in every subject area. A total of 2078 students on roll and an ASD Resource provision with 26 students, the school have been able to maintain a Good Ofsted for many years now.
Over the years, this school has seen substantial improvements in examination results and rates of student progress where pupils are known to behave well, work hard in lessons and are keen to succeed. With the curriculum tailored to the needs of each student, providing a balance of challenge and support to enable each child to achieve their potential. The headteacher is adamant on high personal standards in relation to attendance, punctuality and behaviour from both staff and students.
