Ministry OverviewCuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non‑profit ministry dedicated to Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ. We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically integrated, college‑preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We are committed to providing our students with experiences that will foster in them a servant’s heart, including extra‑curricular activities, inter‑scholastic athletics, music, theater, short‑term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities.

Maximize the success of CVCA students with identified learning needs. The Intervention Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with the Director of Academic Support to coordinate and develop academic plans, as well as lead intervention in a small‑group context across grades 6‑12.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Assess children’s individual needs based on the documentation provided to CVCA by the family and through observation of students in the classroom
- Work in conjunction with the Director of Academic Support to collaborate with various parties to design, execute, and/or assess individualized plans based on various factors such as age, gender, and cultural background
- Meet individually or in small groups to provide specific, direct intervention services to students with identified learning needs
- Monitor individual student progress during the school year through classroom observations, standardized test scores, execution of intervention services, and performance in class – coordinate RTI process, when necessary
- Collaborate with parents to discuss student progress (CVCA grades and Jon Peterson progress reports), as well as refer/link students to additional recommended services
- Support and collaborate with CVCA classroom teachers to provide additional instruction across content areas
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to collect feedback and coordinate attendance at virtual IEP and ETR meetings
- Write IEPs at a Glance and/or CVCA Academic Plans for students on caseload
- Use the Ohio Department of Education system for Jon Peterson to track student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate and communicate with public school districts, teachers, and parents to collect and distribute data for the ETR and IEP process.
- Work with the Director of Academic Success and the Finance Office for compliance with the ODE scholarship students
- Evaluate, interpret, and apply results from standardized achievement tests
- Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus that always aligns with CVCA’s missional boundaries
- Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with licensing guidelines and program policies
- Manage student behavior and administer biblical discipline in accordance with outlined guidelines
- Attend conferences and workshops in order to further advance professional development
- Other duties as assigned
