Job Purpose

The role will be material handling with an emphasis in picking customer orders, loading and unloading of semi-trailers, along with other inventory duties as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Efficiently identify location of parts in the Parts Distribution Center (PDC); pick the quantity of each part as reflected on each customer order line, complete order paperwork, and prepare and pack product for shipment.
  • Load trailers by hand or using powered forklifts, carts, and other ancillary equipment as required.
  • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders.
  • Attend scheduled work hours regularly and on time; maintain good attendance.
  • Regularly contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Work mandatory overtime when required.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and written methods (email, text messages, etc.) in a professional manner and in accordance with company policy and as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist with all aspects of shipping, receiving, counting, movement, and organizing of materials as part of warehouse operations as directed by supervisor.
  • Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks.
  • Conduct cycle and physical counting of all materials as assigned.
  • Accurately document all shipments, inbound and outbound.
  • Use and interface with computer systems to access information and process paperwork in a timely manner when required for the tasks being performed.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate, and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision from a warehouse supervisor or other warehouse management.
  • Move and transfer products between various sections of the warehouse as needed to maintain good housekeeping and proper materials organization.
  • Stack, shelve, and stage items for storage and shipment in a manner that will not damage materials or pose risk to others.
  • Follow all warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs) when performing duties.
  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently according to company policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret warehouse documents needed to perform duties, such as customer orders, picklists, bills of lading, packing slips, inventory reports, emails, SOPs, and memos.
  • Perform cycle counting of inventory.
  • Perform product loading and unloading tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of performance in all areas as defined by warehouse management.
  • Unload, stack, move, and place products in designated areas if applicable.
  • Perform daily checks on equipment as required.
  • Ensure the safety of others working in the vicinity of moving vehicles; immediately report any unsafe conditions or acts to supervisor or management.
  • Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations; wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
  • Loading/unloading materials from trailers and trucks per standard operating procedures and common practices.
  • Operate all tools and machines essential to the job, including computer systems, forklifts, hand jacks, tape measures, calculators, loading docks, cranes, scales, data collection equipment, radios, and copy machines.
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required by the company.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School or equivalent (GED)
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Forklift Certification
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    Basic math skills (accurate counting); data entry and communication skills
  • Experience:

    1 to 3 months related experience and/or training
