Overview
Job Purpose:
Responsibility to transport and deliver freight over the road in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner. As a driver for Stoughton Trucking, you will act as a positive ambassador of the company and affiliated companies, to business partners, clients, and all others encountered through the course of your duties.
- Operate fleet trucks and trailers to transport various freight over short and long distances.
- Ensure that all operations related to your transport are compliant with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Perform routine inspection and manage preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer repairs to inhouse maintenance team.
- Work with dispatch team to optimize routes and loads while maintaining appropriate paperwork and records require under applicable industry, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and laws.
- Alone or with assistance, hook and unhook trailers, secure freight, tarp, and un-tarp freight depending on the type of trailer.
