Experienced Registered Nurse - Day Surgery

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for an Experienced Day Surgery RN in our Surgical Services department on a Full-Time basis.

The registered nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in assigned units. The RN maintains accountability for their own practice and delegates/provides direction to other nursing personnel in the unit in accordance with their level of experience and expertise.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to perform essential functions of a Registered Nurse including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, and evaluation
• Effectively enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices
• Maintains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practices
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
• Integrates research findings into clinical practice

Position Requirements:

• Required:
  
  Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing
• Preferred:
  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse in good standing
• Professional
  
  Experience:
  
  Requires 1 year of relevant nursing experience. Experience in Operating Room, Circulating General, and Orthopedics.
• Required Certification:
  Current BLS certification at hire, ACLS and PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar

  Competency:
  
  Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
• Microsoft Office Suite
  
  Skills:
  
  Beginning Skills - Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.

Work Shift:

• Full-Time, .8 FTE
• Monday - Friday
• Hours:
  
  7:00 am to 5:30 pm or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (Hours may flex some)
• 8 or 10-hour shifts
• Weekend Rotation:
  Every 4th or 5th Weekend on call in PACU
• Holiday Rotation:
  Every 4th Holiday
