ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those who are looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule.
Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary when you choose to pick up a shift. You will be required to engage actively by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts you do not respond, employment may be terminated.
If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment may be administratively terminated. Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it are critical to your success in this role. If offered a position, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule before using the myTime mobile scheduling app to pick up shifts.

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the check lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.
As a Guest Advocate, you will develop skills including:
- Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
- Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns
- Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
- Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services
Typical Day – Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a service culture by delivering the service standard and creating a welcoming experience for guests
- Assist guests, solving their specific needs with knowledge of tools, products, and services
- Be knowledgeable about Total Store offerings to resolve issues and improve guest experience
- Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
- Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with safety standards and best practices
- Work to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service accuracy
- Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events
- Explain Target Loyalty benefits and assist with enrollment; be familiar with fulfillment services and how to enroll, activate, and use them
- Assist guests with Wallet and other Target App features
- Handle returns following policies, coordinating with leadership as needed
- De-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience per policies
- Deliver accurate service for Order Pickup, Drive Up, and Registry guests
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards
- Support guest services such as order pickup, drive-up, returns, and compliance with relevant laws
- Support cash office processes as needed
- All other duties based on business needs
