Volunteer role Thursdays
The Failte Centre in Stornoway is looking for volunteer Lunch Assistants to support its weekly Thursday lunch for older members of the local community.
The role suits someone who enjoys practical help, quiet conversation, and being part of something small that matters.
The roleYou will help prepare and serve lunch to members attending the weekly group.
You will assist with teas, clearing tables, and tidying the space after lunch.
You will spend time chatting with members and helping create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
You will support a long established community group that helps reduce loneliness and isolation.
Working patternThe group meets on Thursdays.
Volunteers usually give four to six hours per week.
Times can be discussed to fit availability.
What we are looking forYou should be friendly, patient, and comfortable working with older people.
You should be happy to help with light food preparation and serving.
No formal qualifications are required.
Training and guidance are provided.
