Job Responsibilities- Patient
Experience:
Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve patient issues in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive patient experience. - Lead customer service by modeling best practices to deliver a distinctive patient experience, including interpersonal habits that show care and Walgreens service traits.
- Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and other wellness services to promote a patient-centered role.
- Participate in events reflecting the communities served as requested by Store Manager, Healthcare Supervisor, or District Manager.
- Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy; refer to medical providers as needed.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Review, interpret, and dispense prescribed medications in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and standards; oversee workflow, staffing, scheduling, and procedures; responsible for opening/closing the pharmacy and shift changes.
- Ensure Good Faith Dispensing practices in line with state and federal laws when filling prescriptions.
- Collaborate with Store Manager to define and develop new strategic business opportunities.
- Maintain IT knowledge of pharmacy systems including workflow, billing, documentation, training, inventory management, and POS; support staff and patients with information technology and identify productivity improvements.
- Process insurance claims accurately; resolve issues with insurers and providers and participate in third-party audits as needed.
- Follow up with medical providers to clarify medications, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies; discuss alternatives as needed.
- Provide immunizations, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and other healthcare services as appropriate.
- Coordinate with centralized support for patient registration and issue resolution; in virtual environments, conduct product review per company procedures.
- Maintain and improve the pharmacy department’s maintenance, housekeeping, equipment, and layout to ensure a functional and efficient operation.
- Prepare and submit records and reports required by state and federal law to run the pharmacy business.
- Collaborate with Store Manager on hiring, discipline and termination as needed; ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Establish expectations and goals; promote teamwork; monitor improvements and manage performance through training and formal reviews.
- Identify high-potential team members and support career progression.
- Address employee relations concerns and maintain positive morale.
- Maintain required licensing/credentialing/certification to provide clinical services.
- Keep knowledge up to date with pharmacy and healthcare developments; pursue best practices to enhance performance.
- Complete required education credits and training; seek professional development and coaching support.
- Support Store Manager by communicating relevant corporate health and wellness information to staff.
- Analyze performance data including pharmacy financials, customer service, and inventory; manage asset protection and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop relationships with local medical providers; promote the pharmacy business and growth opportunities; support health and wellness awareness in the community.
- BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited institution.
