Registered Nurse (T&RC) – Full-Time Night Shift
Position Summary
- Assess patients’ conditions and coordinate nursing care activities with other health disciplines to align the nursing regimen with the treatment plan.
- Develop written individualized care plans that include teaching needs and discharge planning.
- Administer direct care, medications, and infection control measures while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Communicate changes in patients’ conditions and questions regarding patient care to Charge RN/Clinician.
- Maintain current written plan of care, set priorities, and set patient goals and priorities with patients and/or families.
- Document evidence of patient/family teaching and their understanding while ensuring teaching is consistent with the physician or designee.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff and departments and participate in unit or hospital based quality assurance activities or committees.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids and/or tissue; handling emergency and crisis situations; irregular hours and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
- Classified by OSHA as Category 1.
Qualifications
- License to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least one year of previous acute care experience is preferred.
- Only licensed nurse experience in an acute care facility will be counted towards RN1 experience.
