Overview
Position Summary:
At Stony Brook Medicine, Facility Operations Assistant are valuable members of our team in the Receiving & Courier Services Department. This member provides routine direction and manifests to / from all hospital affiliated clinics & locations throughout Eastern & Western Long Island, as well as the Metro NYC.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, time management skills, knowledge of demographics, and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be organized and able to pay attention to detail, while working with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities- Dispatch transport requests to / from the Hospital and its affiliated locations.
- Maintain the work area clean and organized.
- Assist with deliveries of Hospital orders delivered to the Receiving area when necessary.
- Manually log all calls on a daily basis.
- Gather data for scheduling of repairs, NYS inspections, regular maintenance, etc. by filling out and submitting a Squawk Sheet to the Automotive Facility Operations Dept.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Required Qualifications:
- Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
- Demographic knowledge of both the Eastern & Western Long Island as well as the Metro NYC.
- Ability to communicate orally, as well as read & write English.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Some computer knowledge.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office.

- Customer Service Experience
- Telephone & Data collection experience

- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen*
- Meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
