Job Description - Nursing Assistant I/II-Float Pool Full Time Night (2502804)
OverviewNursing Assistant I/II-Float Pool Full Time Night. Under the supervision of a RN, Nursing Assistants have frequent face-to-face communication with persons in care and their visitors to convey information on treatment procedures and visitors hours, and to support persons who may be despondent or apprehensive. Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of patient care, and the ability to respond to changing patient needs by making decisions based on ethical principles and high standards of excellence.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Change simple dressings as directed, give enemas, douches, and irrigations as directed.
- Apply hot water bottles, aqua K pads, ice bags, and cold/heat compresses as directed.
- Chart and document care and/or behaviors as required.
- Take temperatures, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rate.
- Attend to daily living activities, personal hygiene, and basic needs to maintain a clinical facility environment conducive to treatment and comfort.
- Feed persons requiring assistance to ensure appropriate nourishment.
- Bathe and dress, brush teeth, and trim nails for persons in care.
- Maintain rights, dignity, and confidentiality of persons in care.
- May perform housekeeping and cleaning duties as they relate to direct care to keep the facility clean, sanitary, and properly supplied.
Possession of or ability to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities during the probationary period.
One year of satisfactory full-time experience in the provision of simple treatment and other patient care services under professional supervision.
Preferred: NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or certification from an approved CNA training program, one year of patient care experience, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Compensation
Anticipated pay range information is provided for context. Salary range and actual offer will be based on validated years of experience. Some positions include additional pay such as location pay, shift differential, and geographic pay where applicable. Your total compensation includes leave, health plans, and pension benefits.
