Program Coordinator (Community Medicine & Fellowship)
The Community Medicine and Fellowship Program Coordinator reports to the Medical Education Department Manager and supports the Director(s) in program development, implementation, evaluation and administration. The Community Medicine and Fellowship Program works closely with the Director(s) in leading the administrative tasks of the community medicine rotation and various community outreach projects. This position will also work closely with the Fellowship Director(s) in leading the administrative tasks for managing fellowship programs for the department.
This position requires the ability to prioritize tasks, set and meet deadlines, maintain accurate databases and initiate/maintain communication about resident program activities. This person should possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain discreteness and diplomatically handle problems. This person should also be able to work independently but know when to seek direction from supervisors. This person should be passionate about community outreach and partnering with various organizations within the community.
- Works closely with Fellowship Program Director(s), in the overall administration of ACGME and unaccredited fellowship programs.
- Supports the Community Medicine and Social Medicine Directors with community outreach and events, to include Social Medicine month and various community projects throughout the academic year.
- The lead safety and quality improvement task force administrator for department. Manages the safety committee meetings and coordinates process improvement initiatives.
- Engages in community projects, coordinating residents to participate in various mission-driven projects within the community.
- Coordinates community engagement projects for the department. Coordinates community projects for the residents to participate/engage in within the community.
- Assists in coordinating community medicine rotations amongst all programs.
- Administrative coordinator for transition of care rotations.
- Is the lead administrator for the Safety Committee working closely with the Director on various safety and quality improvement projects.
- Point person for coordinating events, meetings, conferences, for the fellowship programs.
- Manages and performs the day-to-day administrative activities that supports the fellowship programs.
- Is the lead administrator for Community Medicine and Social Medicine projects within the Department.
- Develops in-depth knowledge of the ACGME and Program Requirements, including policies and procedures.
- Support the Fellowship Program Director(s) in meeting accreditation requirements, educational programming, and support of trainees.
- Will be a communication liaison for the Directors, when not available, between faculty, learners, team members, and community partners.
- Responsible for documenting and communicating trainee grievances, leaves, or departure for the program.
- Participates in Department ADHOC items when assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Able to communicate effectively within a team environment.
- Comfortable with communicating with physician faculty, training physicians, and other team members from various departments.
- Able to work independently and know when to seek direction from leaders.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Computer knowledge of basic Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint) preferred.
- Knowledge of graduate medical education highly desirable.
