Pay: $23.00 - $28.74

ResponsibilitiesSUMMARY: Responsible for reviewing and analyzing physicians’ surgical documentation completion, and ensuring proper routing of the charge functions. Coordinate work assigned to outsourcing vendors. Using industry guidelines and best practice standards, reviews vendors performance, handle relationships with vendors.
Job Duties &
Essential Functions:
- Using EMR, review charts and send messages to physicians providing specific information required for completing charts.
- Reconcile ED visits with completed coding and identify any unbilled visits using ED registration log.
- Enter coding data into Patient Keeper billing interface.
- Provide data to CPMP Patient Accounts as requested for patient inquiries.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Enter coding data into Patient Keeper billing interface.
- Analyze, code and abstract information for the purpose of assigning and entering appropriate and consistent diagnoses and procedure codes for reimbursement.
- Resolve discrepancies on coding related issues.
- Maintain PK files for validity errors.
- Monitor TES Open Encounter file.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Complete special department/physician projects.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Medical Billing & Coding Certificate.
- In lieu of certificate, minimum of three years medical billing related experience in a physician’s office.
- Must have excellent expressive communication skills.
- Computer literate with knowledge of medical insurance policies, reimbursement and medical terminology.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record system.
- Working knowledge of coding requirements
- Must be highly organized.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Healthcare experience
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers.
The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
