Overview

Hiring a Full-Time Afternoon Attending Psychiatrist for our CPEP Unit at SBUH!

Shifts totaling 40 hours per week consist of four 10-hour afternoon/evening shifts from 1pm–11pm, with one weekend shift per week. Cross-coverage as necessary. Salary starts at $308,000 plus production incentives, with exceptional retirement and healthcare benefits.

Stony Brook University is the premier academic medical center in Suffolk County, New York. The University Hospital offers state-of-the-art care for patients with acute psychiatric problems. Services include the only Suffolk County Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).

The Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for psychiatric evaluation and management of patients in CPEP/ED of University Hospital. The Clinical Assistant Professor will also be responsible for teaching and supervision of medical students and residents.

Required Qualifications:

• MD with New York State license.
• B.E./B.C. in Adult Psychiatry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical Experience in Emergency Psychiatry.

Salary details and retirement plans:

• Stony Brook Dept. of Psychiatry offers two separate pension plans.
• We contribute 12% of your annual salary with or without contribution; free money vested at 3 years of service.
• NY State: 457(b) plan, 403(b) plan for physician voluntary contributions; optional retirement plan state contributions.
• CPMP/UUP: 8% of practice plan salary paid by us; physician irrevocable contribution commitment to CPMP 403(b) plan.
