Senior Banking Specialist

The hourly pay range for this position is $24.11 - $30.32

Position Summary

Responsible for delivering exceptional service by assisting customers and prospects, understanding their needs, and offering appropriate solutions. Performs a variety of day-to-day transactions for existing and prospective customers. Maintains knowledge of the Bank's products, services, and digital technology. In addition, a Senior Banking Specialist has the authority to open and close the branch and sign cashier's checks. This role requires flexibility to work all hours that the branch is open, including Saturday mornings at either branch, and to attend after-hours branch training and All Hands meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers with a smile, use their name, and thank them for banking with Stoneham Bank.
  • Process a variety of customer transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, issuing bank checks and money orders, processing mortgage and loan payments, and processing night deposits and ATM balancing transactions.
  • Document all work in detail to aid in future research.
  • Adhere to the Bank's retail security, cash handling, and audit procedures.
  • Act in a leadership role by assisting in training, coaching, and developing branch staff through teamwork.
  • Determine customers' needs and suggest appropriate products or refer them to the appropriate area (lending, cash management, or Stoneham Financial Services).
  • Participate in sales and performance goals; track open and closed sales for the Performance Incentive Plans (PIP). Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales and referral goals as assigned by the Branch Manager/Administrator.
  • Attend staff meetings, sales meetings, training sessions, or other sessions as designated or recommended by management.
  • Open and process new customer accounts; offer solutions and opportunities to existing and prospective customers.
  • Answer customer questions regarding their accounts, including checks cleared, balances, and account holds.
  • Assist and educate customers on the use of digital banking channels (e.g., Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Video Banking, Voice Response, ATM).
  • Assist customers with account issues such as closing accounts, balancing checkbooks, ordering checks, closing debit cards, address changes, and research requests.
  • Respond to internal and external customer telephone or email inquiries by close of business, ensuring all customer needs are met professionally and efficiently.
  • Conduct teleconsulting calls as assigned.
  • Assist customers with submitting and closing personal loan applications.
  • Assist with home equity loan closings.
  • Initiate mortgage referrals to Mortgage Loan Officers.
  • Initiate referrals to Stoneham Financial Services.
  • Maintain a current Notary Public certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Bank management, including acting as a fill-in for other retail or Customer Contact Center positions, potentially at other branch locations.
  • Adhere to Stoneham Bank's Standards of Professionalism.
  • Protect the Bank's data and systems against unauthorized access and cyber threats in accordance with the Bank's Employee Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement.
  • Stay informed about the Bank's Compliance and CRA efforts by reviewing applicable materials and making efforts to identify customers' needs in these areas.
  • Participate in community events such as volunteering for local schools, neighborhood associations, government, and nonprofit organizations, which is part of Stoneham Bank's value of SERVICE.
  • Participate in Board Meetings from time to time.
