Overview
The Stone Mountain Park (SMP) attractions team is dedicated to providing a positive, exciting, and staff minded employment opportunity. The goal of the department is to ensure a fun, enjoyable/memorable experience for all park guests we interact with. The Attractions Team Member (ATM) II position is an entry level job that prioritizes safety, great customer service, teamwork, and positive attitudes. The ATM II position will find themselves in areas close to/on water or in a high angle/at height environment.
This position includes multiple areas within the Attractions department. These areas may include (but are not limited to) SMP’s:
Skyride, Railroad Conductor, Zipline & Skyhike courses, Boat rentals & Motorboat Tours, and other developing areas. ATM II staff members may also be asked to help in other developed attraction areas.
- Provide excellent customer service & assist guests with a wonderful park experience
- Help provide a work/guest environment by adhering to company safety standards
- Must be able to assist & conduct guest and staff rescues in specific areas
- Must be able to conduct safety inspections and adhere to advanced safety policies
- Assist in the daily preparation and closing of assigned work areas
- Memorize and execute scripted speeches in relation to specific designated attraction areas
- Monitor and guide guests through various attraction experiences
- Maintain a clean and orderly work/guest environment
- Assist with cleaning and light maintenance as needed
- All other assigned duties
- Must be 17 years of age or older
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
- Must have schedule availability for department needs
- Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers
- Must be able to handle and perform multiple tasks at once
- Must be comfortable in high stress situations and good under pressure
- Must be able to work alone or with minimal supervision
- Must be able to talk with guests and staff individually and in large group
- Preferred ability to swim & comfort around water (for specific areas)
- Preferred comfort with heights (for specific areas)
- Some specific areas at this level may ask the staff member to be 18 years of age or older
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and walk. The employee must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. unassisted. Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus and night vision. Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly.
Some jobs ATM IIs do may require the staff member to paddle a boat, pull themselves along a zipline cable while also pulling another person’s weight, climbing ladders, going into tight spaces, and other unique physical situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to outside weather conditions, cold temperatures and extreme heat, wet/or humid conditions, and noise levels in the work environment can be loud.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the above-mentioned duties and cope with the above-described physical demands and work environment. Staff that are afraid of heights or uncomfortable around water may still be able to find a position as an ATM II depending on which areas need staffing (please inquire with Attractions leadership).
Employment at Stone Mountain Park is contingent on the completion of a criminal background check and a drug screen, with the results being negative. Stone Mountain Park employees are subject to pre-employment, post-injury, post-accident, reasonable suspicion and random testing for illegal drug usage.
