OVERVIEW:
2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 3:15am Monday - Thursday
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the maintenance operations of the Atlanta distribution center, focusing on material handling systems, conveyor systems, automation, controls, HVAC, janitorial, and building infrastructure. This role assists in executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, managing vendor relationships, and supporting capital projects. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in resource planning, CMMS utilization, and teammate development, contributing to a safe, efficient, and high-performing facility.
Facilities Maintenance
Support the execution of maintenance programs for conveyor systems, material handling equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building infrastructure to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Coordinate maintenance activities with department managers to ensure timely repairs and minimal operational disruption.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment failures, escalating issues as needed to ensure operational continuity.
Manage janitorial and housekeeping operations to maintain cleanliness and safety standards across the facility.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory standards, partnering with safety specialists to implement best practices.
Capital Projects and Construction Support
Assist in the installation, commissioning, and integration of new MHE systems, HVAC, and infrastructure upgrades.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure maintenance considerations are incorporated into facility design and layout.
Support capital project execution by coordinating internal resources and external vendors, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
Procurement and Resource Management
Utilize the CMMS system to track work orders, schedule preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate asset records.
Assist in managing spare parts inventory, procurement processes, and vendor relationships to ensure availability and cost efficiency.
Monitor maintenance expenses and support budget planning for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance needs.
Teammate Development
Supervise maintenance and janitorial personnel, ensuring daily tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Assist in hiring, onboarding, and developing team members to build a high-performing maintenance organization.
Promote a positive work environment focused on safety, collaboration, and operational excellence

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
5-7 years of experience in a maintenance management role
Knowledge of robotics & automation preferred
Knowledge of a CMMS program
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems including robotics
Knowledge of programmable logic controls
Previous and proven work with conveyors
Knowledge of OSHA guidelines & regulations
Working knowledge of Lockout/Tag-out procedures
