Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Global Junior Developer to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester
. You will join us on a full‑time basis as part of an initial 1‑year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £32,725 to £44,275 per annum depending on experience.
Human Appeal is a faith‑based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programmes and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
As Global Junior Developer
, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the development and maintenance of industry‑leading websites and software applications. They will work collaboratively with online, campaigns and marketing teams, stakeholder delivery teams and directly with stakeholders to analyse business requirements, design solutions and develop clean reusable code. The focus is on quality and best technical approach to support the delivery of Human Appeal websites in line with organisational strategy and objectives.
We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

- Analyse business requirements and internal designs, and develop system requirements.
- Develop structured, clean and reusable code.
Education
- Computer Science graduate, boot camp graduate or self‑taught programmer with relevant experience and a proven track record.
Experience
- Experience with payment systems.
- Familiarity with advanced Google Analytics and AdWords tracking.
- Knowledge of Git or Team City.
- Understanding of REST and SOAP APIs.
- Experience with a CMS.
- Experience with international / multilingual sites.
- Experience in agile project methodologies.
Skills
- A keen eye for detail on the front end and code quality on the back end.
- A proven track record of delivering to a high standard.
- Awareness of SEO and security best practices.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector.
