Fabric Technician

Position

We are now recruiting for a Fabric Technician covering the Stoke on Trent and Derby areas.

£29,412.69 - £32,774.12 per annum (dependent upon skills and experience), 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 with 5 years service plus bank holidays.

Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Typical attendance will be 07:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday. Flexibility around attendance is essential.

Potential requirement to join a call out rota. Standby allowance c £290 per week when on callout rota, and an appropriate overtime rate when attending calls.

• Primary contact with end users or main customers, working closely with Building Engineering Technicians, Asset Technicians and Fabric Team Managers.
• Provide knowledge of the Building Fabric industry to customers, guaranteeing a first‑class service to keep premises secure and safe at all times.
• Apply technical skills to a range of situations, using judgement to solve fabric‑related problems and ensure project completion.
• Ensure full compliance with RMPFS health and safety policies and procedures for the safety of colleagues, customers and the public.

• Skilled Building Fabric Technician with a strong joinery background.
• Confident using electronic management systems, communicating clearly with customers and colleagues.
• Practical experience in carpentry, wet trades and building fabric materials.
• Ideally holds a City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Carpentry & Joinery.
• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
