About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Electrician to join our Estates & Facilities team, helping us keep our hospital running safely and efficiently. This is a vital role supporting patient care by ensuring our electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment

• Responding to urgent maintenance requests across wards, theatres, and clinical areas

• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs quickly and safely

• Maintaining lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, nurse call systems, and distribution boards

• Supporting electrical elements of medical equipment where required

• Ensuring all work complies with HTM guidelines, BS 7671, and statutory regulations

• Keeping accurate records of work completed and test results

• Assisting with installation work, refurbishments, and capital projects

• Participating in the on‑call rota to provide emergency cover

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation or equivalent

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• Experience in electrical maintenance within commercial, industrial, or healthcare settings

• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 / 2395 (Inspection & Testing)

• Experience working to HTM standards

• Knowledge of UPS systems, standby generators, BMS, and fire alarm networks
