Role Overview
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic candidates with the ability to work well within a challenging environment, and who can deliver high quality patient care from an either/both Anaesthetic and Scrub skill set. We promote a dual role workforce in our theatre department.
DevelopmentWe can offer you a structured preceptorship and induction programme for all new members of staff, plus access to ongoing continuing professional education and development, appraisal and clinical supervision.
Job DetailsWe have vacancies for full time and part time members of staff. We have a wide range of shifts available and cover both elective neuro surgery and emergency trauma and neuro surgery sessions over 7 days a week / 24 hours a day (at Royal Stoke).

In line with the change of immigration rules on 8th January 2026, if you require sponsorship through the Skilled Worker Visa you must be able to provide B2 English evidence before a Certificate of Sponsorship can be issued. If you obtained your qualifications overseas, you will be required to provide an official government translation through ECCTIS (formerly NARIC). If you are currently in the UK on a visa, you must have at least six months remaining on your visa at the time of your start date to ensure sufficient time for the operational and training process associated with the role.
The requirement of at least six months remaining on your visa does not apply to a Skilled Worker Visa, as a new Skilled Worker Visa would be required for a new role.
We are very keen to recruit Scrub & Anaesthetic Practitioners. All nurses and ODPs are welcome to apply. Ideally we are looking for experienced theatre team members, but we welcome applications from newly qualified staff or new to theatres who can demonstrate a keen interest in joining our team. Any students who qualify in the next 3 to 6 months are encouraged to apply.
You will gain a wide range of experience and can expand your skills and knowledge in this challenging and rewarding environment.
Location and FacilityOperating Theatres Royal Stoke. Our Major Trauma Centre has been ranked number one in the country for survival rates. We currently have a vacancy for Registered Nurses or ODP at Band 5 in our brand new state of the art Theatre Suite in the specialty of Trauma and Neuro surgery theatres at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. The Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country, based across two sites, Royal Stoke in Stoke-on-Trent and County Hospital in Stafford, serving around three million people.
