Position: MIG Welder (Permanent)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent

MIG Welder (0.6mm – 1.5mm)

Location:

Stoke/Cheadle
Salary: £29,620 per annum
Hourly Rate: £13.61 + £1.58 shift allowance (increasing to approx. £14.00 per hour in the New Year)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are currently seeking skilled MIG Welders experienced in welding thin gauge materials between 0.6mm and 1.5mm. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and stable manufacturing environment offering competitive pay, shift premiums, and a retention bonus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality welds in line with engineering drawings and production standards.

Working Hours

We operate a rotating shift pattern:

Morning

Shift:

* Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm

* Friday: 6:00am – 12:30pm

Afternoon

Shift:

* Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:30pm

* Friday: 12:30pm – 5:00pm

Occasional weekend working may be required:

* Saturday:
Paid at 1.5x basic rate (usually Saturday mornings)

* Sunday:
Paid at 2x basic rate

Pay & Benefits

* Annual salary: £29,620

* Hourly rate: £13.61 + £1.58 shift allowance

* £1,000 retention bonus payable after 12 weeks (subject to meeting performance criteria)

* Bonus is repayable if employment ends within 12 months of payment

* Overtime paid at enhanced weekend rates

Key Responsibilities

* MIG welding of thin gauge materials (0.6mm – 1.5mm)

* Working from engineering drawings and specifications

* Ensuring weld quality meets required standards

* Carrying out basic quality inspections

* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

* Supporting production targets and deadlines

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven MIG welding experience (thin gauge essential)

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* High attention to detail and quality standards

* Reliable and flexible with shift work

* Good understanding of health & safety procedures
