The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established HGV fleet maintenance business in Stoke-on-Trent, is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee a small, skilled team of mechanics. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage day-to-day operations, support your team, and ensure high standards of vehicle maintenance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and lead a small team of workshop mechanics

* Plan and control bookings, job allocation, and workshop workflow

* Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and service delivery

* Ensure all HGV maintenance and repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to regulatory standards

* Monitor productivity, quality, and turnaround times

* Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures

* Provide reports and operational feedback to senior management

Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience as a Workshop Manager or senior supervisor in HGV, PSV, or commercial vehicle workshops

* Strong leadership and people management skills for a small team

* Excellent organisational and planning abilities

* Professional and customer-focused communication style

* Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively

* Comfortable using workshop management and booking systems
