Hours

Full time 36.25 hours per week (Job share may be available) Monday to Friday between the hours of 6am and 5pm as required. Some flexibility may be required due to the nature of the job.

Job Profile

To organise and supervise the function of the Hospitality team in Hanchurch and Burslem ensuring we maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building, guest's needs are met and the quality of food is kept to a high standard.

Main Purpose of Job

The Hospitality Lead will lead and oversee all hospitality services across both sites including catering, housekeeping/cleaning, laundry, and bedrooms/accommodation. The role exists to ensure safe, welcoming, and high-quality environments that reflect Christian values of care, dignity, service, and hospitality for all guests, residents, staff, and visitors.

Head of Facilities and Hospitality. Line manages:
Facility and Hospitality Assistants. Works closely with:
Facilities Handy Persons, Gardener, Multi‑Site Leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of hospitality services across both sites
  • Ensure consistent standards, processes, and service delivery across both locations
  • Work closely with site leaders to support the mission and ministry of the charity
  • Hospitality Operations
    • Oversee all hospitality functions including food and catering, housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, and bedrooms
    • Ensure bedrooms and communal areas are clean, comfortable, safe, and well‑presented
    • Maintain a homely, welcoming atmosphere that supports wellbeing and dignity
  • Food & Catering
    • Ensure provision of high‑quality, nutritious meals that meet dietary, cultural, and individual needs
    • Oversee menu planning in line with budgets and values
    • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
  • Housekeeping & Cleaning
    • Lead housekeeping and cleaning teams to maintain excellent cleanliness and infection control standards
    • Implement cleaning schedules, audits, and quality assurance checks
    • Oversee laundry and linen services
  • People Management
    • Recruit, train, and support hospitality staff and volunteers across both sites
    • Promote a supportive, inclusive, and respectful working culture
    • Ensure staff are equipped to deliver services aligned with Christian values
  • Quality, Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, infection control, and safeguarding requirements
    • Support external inspections and internal reviews
    • Ensure that all records relating to Health & Safety are maintained and accessible for inspection, e.g. better food better business, Fridge and Freezer Temperatures
    • Adhere to all COSHH guidelines
  • Budget & Resources
    • Manage hospitality budgets across both sites responsibly and transparently
    • Oversee purchasing, stock control, and supplier relationships
    • Ensure good stewardship of resources in line with charitable values
  • Guest / Resident Experience
    • Champion a culture of warmth, welcome, and care
    • Respond appropriately to feedback or concerns
    • Work collaboratively with pastoral, operational, and support teams
  • Other
    • To develop ways of introducing UCBs story in a manner that is relevant and engaging
    • To gather testimonies from UCB's readers, listeners and viewers, reporting on the positive impact and public benefit the Charity provides and forwarding them onto the appropriate testimony champions
    • To support all of UCBs fundraising activities and events; whether in prayer and/or directly in participation, ensuring sufficient resources are available in order to maximise success
    • Such other duties that are within the scope of your skills and capabilities that may be reasonably required
Qualifications
  • Senior hospitality management experience (food service and housekeeping)
  • Experience leading teams across more than one site
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi‑task
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Empathy, professionalism, and a service‑oriented approach
  • Must hold a current valid driving licence
  • GCSEs English and Maths or equivalent experience
Desirable
  • Experience working in a charity, faith‑based, care, or residential setting
  • Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Catering, or Facilities Management
