Diagnostic Radiographer

As we prepare to officially launch our brand-new Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, UHNM's Imaging Department is excited to welcome enthusiastic and motivated Diagnostic Radiographers to join our expanding Community X-ray team. Roles are available on a full-time, part-time, or flexible basis.

In this vital support role, you'll work alongside Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners at the new CDC and across our four existing community sites. The team operates seven X-ray rooms across five locations in North Staffordshire
, including:

  • Haywood Hospital
  • Leek Moorlands Hospital
  • Cobridge Health Centre

You'll be part of a rotational team, delivering high-quality care across all sites.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about patient-centred care, excellent communicators, and adaptable team players ready to make a difference in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

Main duties of the job

You will act as clinical lead when you are on duty. You will organise and prioritise competing clinical demands. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, professional environment that we can all be proud of. You will need to be knowledgeable, confident, handle pressure well whilst still being approachable, supportive and caring to all.

You may be a band 6 Radiographer looking for a change or an experienced Band 5 Radiographer looking to progress and join an exciting imaging department

We would welcome you to come and visit our department if you are interested to take a look for yourself and meet our small friendly fantastic team! This can be arranged with the management team via email or telephone.

Please note you will need a BSc Hons Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, HCPC registration, a minimum of 12 Months NHS experience; and have had recent work experience within a general x-ray team using digital radiography technology.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute towards the community teams 7 day rotation which includes shifts from 7am to 10pm and also BH's.

  • Minimum of 12 Months working knowledge of Plain Film Radiography
  • Experience of using a RIS and PACS System
  • Organisation, Prioitisation and Planning Skills
  • Awareness and knowledge of current H&S Regulations
  • Experience and understanding of Quality Assurance
  • Good Knowledge of current IRR
    17 & IR(ME)
    R Regulations
  • Knowledge of Wellbeing CRIS and Sectra PACS systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Applications
  • Knowledge of Equipment
