Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke‑on‑Trent City Council – Housing Regeneration and Operations – Highways Section – Civic Centre, Level 6, Grade Level 6, Salary £28,598 – £31,022, Hours 37 Full Time. This advert is to both Internal and External applicants.

Join our Highways team as a Street Works & Permit Coordinator
, where you’ll play a vital role in managing and coordinating street works and permits to minimise disruption and keep our roads safe and efficient.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate major works and permit applications, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Manage street works registers, inspections and enforcement under the Traffic Management Act and NRSWA.
  • Liaise with utility companies and contractors to resolve conflicts and maintain smooth operations.
  • Oversee licensing for skips, scaffolding and temporary traffic measures.
Qualifications
  • ONC or equivalent knowledge in a relevant subject.
  • Strong understanding of traffic‑management legislation and permitting systems.
  • Experience with NRSWA, coordination of works and enforcement processes.
  • Excellent communication, IT skills and ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Organised, collaborative and committed to high standards of safety and service.
