Starting salary of up to £45k, plus benefits and hybrid working

The Company
Our client is a successful manufacturing business, based in Stoke-on-Trent. They are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to undertake a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
The Role
As Cost Accountant, you will support the operational management team by taking responsibility for the managerial P&L and will provide the business with accurate and timely financial information, commercial support and analysis to support all business decisions, including:
* Analysis of plant and non‑plant operational costs
* Calculation and analysis of standard cost prices
* Monitoring and reporting on production processes
* Conducting monthly production variance analysis
* Developing, tracking and reporting production‑based KPIs
* Variance analysis of actual costs versus budget and prior year
* Costing and production‑related monthly closing activities
* Leading the annual budgeting process for all operational items
* Providing first‑line SAP support
* Analysis and improvements in working capital performance
* Supporting monthly closing and P&L reporting
* Commercial support and contract management
* Audit compliance and support
* Investment analysis and support
The Candidate
To be considered for the role of Cost Accountant, you should be able to demonstrate the following:
* Formal accounting qualification - AAT, CIMA, ACCA, degree in economics, finance, or accounting and/or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience working for a manufacturer.
* Previous experience using SAP is desirable
* Broad financial knowledge, including understanding of financial theory, principles, and professional accounting practices
* Strong understanding of business operations, processes and cross‑functional workflows
* Excellent decision maker
* Team player
* Strong problem solver
