Multi‑Skilled Engineering Supervisor

Our client is a well‑established and stable business. They are looking for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineering Supervisor to lead a team and mentor an apprentice within their manufacturing site in Stoke‑on‑Trent.

The Multi‑Skilled Engineering Supervisor Will Be Responsible For

Carrying out the maintenance, repair or installation of all plant equipment:

  • Assist in the provision of a reactive maintenance service as required during normal working hours and as required outside of working hours.
  • Clearly identify and record concise details of actions taken when rectifying breakdowns and further action required to eliminate or minimize future problems. Ensuring that records are always kept up to date.
  • Ensure that all relevant health safety, COSHH and environmental permit regulations are always adhered to.
  • Issue permits as required to any contractors, ensuring that they have provided a risk assessment and method statement before any work commences. Ensure that they follow the agreed work and permit conditions and that they always follow all H & S and environmental requirements.
The Ideal Multi‑Skilled Engineering Supervisor Will Need To Be / Have
  • Qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (Electrical bias preferred).
  • Willing to lead the team and guide an apprentice engineer (elec principles installation etc).
  • 5‑10 years engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to multi‑task across mechanical, electrical and building disciplines as per your skill set / business requirements.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Analyse and provide technical advice and solutions to problems.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work cohesively with multi‑department teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical staff.
  • A good understanding of the interrelationship between assets and their maintenance and lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of health & safety and environmental current legislation and guidance.

This Multi‑Skilled Engineering Supervisor role is a permanent position working Mon‑Friday. Offering a competitive package including a basic up to £48K.
