About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our agency and support a range of secondary schools across Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and on task. You will deliver pre-prepared work, follow school guidelines, and help maintain a positive classroom environment. No lesson planning is required, making this the perfect stepping stone into a career in education.

You do not need to be a qualified teacher – this Cover Supervisor role is ideal for graduates, teaching assistants, mentors, coaches, or anyone with relevant experience supporting young people.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise lessons across a wide range of subjects in secondary schools.
Ensure students complete the work set and maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Provide feedback to teachers regarding student progress or behaviour.
Support the wider school community when needed.

Requirements

Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to manage groups of students and maintain discipline.
A flexible, proactive, and reliable approach to work.
Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience is desirable).
A degree or relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
