- Job Title: Teaching Assistant
- Location: Thistley Hough Academy, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
- Salary: Grade 5 points 6 – 11: £25,989 - £28,142 per annum (£22,351 - £24,203 actual salary)
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
- Working Pattern: 37 hours, term-time + 1 week (39 weeks total)

About YouThistley Hough Academy is seeking a supportive and empathetic Teaching Assistant to help create a learning environment where every student can reach their full potential. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll work closely with teachers to support students both in the classroom and through pastoral care. Each day will bring something new, giving you the chance to use your initiative and make a real difference in students’ lives.
You’ll assist with small group work, contribute to engaging lessons, and help monitor progress, while also building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. Strong communication, organisation, and a proactive attitude are key, as is a genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Good reading, writing, and maths skills, with GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Able to build good, professional relationships with children.
- Works well alone and with others.
- Clear and friendly communication with students, parents, and staff.
